Meet industry and government regulations with equipment tested to TSA’s highest “Qualified” standard

Morpho Detection’s explosives trace detection (ETD) devices, explosives detection systems (EDS) and X-ray scanners have achieved Qualified Technology status on the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Air Cargo Screening Technology List (ACSTL) – the highest attainable tier for screening equipment.

Equipment in the Qualified Technology section of the ACSTL has completed stringent TSA testing to achieve screening qualification. Per ACSTL Version 8.9, “the qualified technology section specifies equipment, by technology, which has undergone a formal TSA sponsored test process and is deemed qualified for screening operations.”

Conversely, equipment in the ACSTL’s Approved Technology section has received only conditional approval. ACSTL Version 8.9 states that “the approved technology section specifies equipment, by technology, which has been conditionally approved for screening operations and is currently undergoing or scheduled for field test activities. This equipment has up to 36 months from the date when it was added to the approved technology section to successfully pass TSA’s suitability-based field test activities. If it is unable to pass field test activities within the prescribed 36 months, it will be removed from the approved technology section on the specified expiration date.” For this reason, the TSA cautions regulated parties considering purchasing screening equipment that has only approved technology status.

Morpho Detection offers a suite of TSA-qualified screening systems — the highest attainable rating on TSA’s Air Cargo Screening Technology List.

“When procuring equipment from the ACSTL, regulated parties are encouraged to select equipment from the qualified technology section. Regulated parties who procure equipment from the approved technology section do so at their own risk.”

yellow square COST EFFICIENCY

Because protecting margins is critical to the continued success of any business, Morpho air cargo security solutions balance operational needs with capital expenditures and total cost of ownership. Aside from flexible procurement options, Morpho continuously strives to develop cost-saving product improvements which reduce carriers’ operating costs. To help carriers stay competitive, Morpho has reduced total cost of ownership for trace detectors up to 15 percent over the past five years.

yellow square OPERATIONAL CONTINUITY

As the air cargo industry is an essential component of numerous and interrelated domestic and international logistics networks, it is crucial that shippers, forwarders, integrators and carriers manage their operations by the clock. Recognizing the impact of integrating security processes into the flow of operations, Morpho subject matter experts assist customers with site audits and develop concepts of operations cognizant of operational throughput with air cargo screening solutions that meet individual customers’ needs.

yellow square DETECTION OF ILLEGAL SUBSTANCES

Inadvertent shipment of illicit drugs, hazardous material and other contraband can put an air cargo carrier at risk for financial penalties, delays of shipment and even the confiscation of aircraft. Morpho offers a suite of advanced screening technologies to help mitigate the risk of illegal shipments that can jeopardize a business’ financial stability or reputation.

yellow square EMPLOYEE AND ASSET PROTECTION

Securing air cargo through security technology protects a business’ own people and assets. The detection of lethal or illegal threats provides an organization’s employees with the ability to take appropriate measures to operate in a safer environment.

yellow square BRAND REPUTATION MANAGEMENT

Proactively securing the cargo supply chain not only achieves the goal of aviation security compliancy, but also helps protect an organization’s brand and reputation from being associated with negative media coverage of catastrophes caused by terrorism or being perceived as taking a passive approach to stem the flow of illegal drug trafficking. Maintaining customer confidence is vital to a company’s brand and hence its business.
