EADS EFW - A300-600 and A310-300P2F freighters
- EADS EFW, Dresden, Germany

Its unmatched flexibility and the widest cross section in its size category have made the Airbus A300/A310 family to a star in the passenger world and the basement for Airbus’ future development into the world’s leading airframe manufacturer. Airbus’ new-built freighter A300-600RF (1993 – 2007) and the decision to provide a passenger-to-freighter (P2F) conversion program in the early/mid 1990’s for the first generation of A300’s and A310’s (the A300B4 and the A310-200) was the starting point for Airbus freighter presence in the market. Based on the given success genes of the passenger aircraft the innovative Airbus freighter solutions transformed into market leaders in the medium widebody freighter size segment. The 2nd generation conversion program A300-600 and A310-300 (from 2000) kept this success path until today.

The key success factors for both the A300-600 and the A310-300 P2F are:

• The 222 inch cross section which allows full interlining with narrowbody and large widebody freighters.
• The main deck cargo loading system which allows a maximum of flexibility and even 96” side-by-side loading of ULD’s – ideal for interlining!
• The lower deck cargo is the only in this freighter size category which is accommodating the standard LD3 containers and cargo pallets – no
   limitations like elsewhere.
• The passenger-to-freighter STC is owned and supported by Airbus and is an original OEM engineering solution. All parts and related
workmanship at EADS EFW have 100% OEM quality.
• The completely new manufactured and installed floor structure accommodates heavy loads and provides long-term reliability with respect to    aircraft structure and maintenance.
• The extensive quality management system makes sure that the high level of reliability and customer satisfaction is guaranteed - since many    years. The intense quality control even allows taking off without the performance of a test flight after conversion.
• Full Customer Support, closely coordinated between Airbus and EADS EFW
• EADS EFW delivers a turn-key solution for its customers. This includes the possibility to perform up to heavy maintenance services during
   the regular P2F layover period.

As of today EADS has converted more than 170 aircraft into freighters and at least another 18 P2F converted aircraft will be added to the Airbus Widebody Freighter fleet until 2013.
